Research Interests

Gregory A. Raymond is the Frank Church Professor of International Relations at Boise State University .  Born and raised in New Jersey , Dr. Raymond received his Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of South Carolina and was a Pew Faculty Fellow in International Affairs at Harvard University .  While at Boise State , he has served as the Director of the Survey Research Center (1986-1989), Chairman of the Political Science Department (1990-1996), and the Director of the Honors College (1997-2007).  Selected as the Idaho Professor of the Year in 1994 by the Carnegie Foundation in Washington, DC, Dr. Raymond has received Boise State’s Outstanding Researcher Award as well as 8 awards for teaching excellence.  He has published 14 books and over 80 articles, reviews, and essays on foreign policy and world politics.  In addition, he has lectured at universities and research institutes in 22 countries.  His work has been supported by grants from the American Political Science Association, the United States Institute of Peace, the United States Department of State, and other government agencies.
