Boise City Council

The person selected for this position will have the opportunity to actively participate in City Government and will have an inside view of an engaged City Council. The Council is looking for an intern who is energetic, organized and is able to take on a wide variety of tasks. Among other duties, this person will assist in developing a process for tracking items in land use and development projects track and respond to requests of constituents; interact with the various city departments and other duties as they arise. The applicant must be able to work the required credit hours during the business hours of the City of Boise.

Idaho Republican Party

Two positions are available, one in the afternoons and one in the morning. Interns will be responsible for clerical tasks like answering phones and mail but will also be involved in grassroots politics. Interns will sit in on meetings involving legislators and the Governor and assist with planning events like the Governor's Ball and county by county fundraisers. Application required.

ACLU of Idaho

Legal Intake Intern: The intern will learn about issues pertaining to constitutional freedoms, the kinds of complaints that raise constitutional issues, how these complaints are addressed, and the sources of assistance for persons with other kinds of complaints. The intern will also have the opportunity to attend ACLU of Idaho Legal Panel meetings to present issues and research. Intern will received assistance with his/her writing skills and knowledge of constitutional law from the ACLU of Idaho Staff Attorney. Field trips to jails are sometimes an option.
