US State Department Internship Program
The US State Department offers opportunities for Summer 2009 internships in overseas US embassies. Applications for these positions are due Novermber 1st, 2009. American Cancer Society
Intern will work with the chief lobbyist and grassroots manager on a variety of issues, including Health insurance Reform on a national level, volunteer engagement with college students, and Smokefree Idaho.

American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)
The intern will learn about legal issues pertaining to constitutional freedoms, the kinds of complaints that raise constitutional issues, how these complaints are addressed, and sources of assistance for persons with other kinds of complaints. The intern will also have the opportunity to attend ACLU of Idaho Legal Panel meetings, often to present issues and research to the panel; and lastly, interns will receive assistance with her/his writing skills and knowledge of constitutional law from the ACLU of Idaho Staff Attorney.

Idaho State Senate - Minority Caucus
Intern will become familiar with Idaho legislative process and report to Chief of Staff for Minority Office. Two positions are available, one in the afternoons and one in the morning. Interns will be responsible for clerical tasks like answering phones and mail but will also be involved in grassroots politics. Interns will sit in on meetings involving legislators and the Governor and assist with planning events like the Governor's Ball and county by county fundraisers. Application required.
